Satisfaction in job

Coming out of engineering college and got a campus job in a leading IT company , wow what a life!!

Join the company and training to attend... still enjoying !!

After training assigned to project, wow now I will get to do some engineering :) :)

After some days, found that there is no engineering to be done in the company all are doing plumbing job. I mean software maintenance for an enterprise application. What a boring life !!

How will i make my self happy and satisfied??

Here are some tips :-

1) Adapt the environment. 

2) Try to contribute to company

3) Don't expect tangible return from company.

How will I get motivated ?? Here are some tips :-

1) Find challenges within company. Keep 1 hour daily to learn new skills to keep you updated in market.

2) Create your own learning calender and track it.

3) Create a activity diary and update it daily (bullet points) with activities done at end of day. If this might not be practical to update daily then do it on weekly basis might be Sunday.

After 1 year you go back and check your diary and learning calender update. Trust me you will be satisfied with it. I have personally tried it and got satisfaction.
